About the US Bureau of Labor Statistics
The US Bureau of Labour Statistics is an agency of the country’s Department of Labor, responsible for measuring labor market activity, working conditions, and price changes in the economy. Its main mission is to create and organize timely, needed government information and services and make them accessible anytime, anywhere, via different channels. The Bureau of Labor Statistics is responsible for releasing the monthly Nonfarm Payroll report, the most-watched measure of the US job sector health, and is also in charge of releasing the country’s Consumer Pride Index. Employment and inflation are the two legs on which the US Federal Reserve bases its monetary policy decisions.
