ECB's Villeroy: Inflation should come back down below 2% within a year

The European Central Bank (ECB) Governing Council member and Bank of France Head Francois Villeroy de Galhau said that he believes inflation will come back down below 2% within a year.
In the last hour, the central bank policymaker Yannis Stournaras also said that “inflation will fall below 2% in the medium-term.”
Separately, another ECB policymaker Frank Elderson noted that they are “very closely monitoring energy prices for possible impact on inflation, still consider it as largely temporary.”
Market reaction
EUR/USD is trading at 1.1562, up 0.05% on the day, stuck in a tight range at the time of writing.
