China's Commerce Ministry: : Will follow through on consensus reached by US-China leaders

China's Commerce Ministry was out with some comments in the last hour, saying that trade and economic teams from both China and the US sides have maintained communications. Will follow through on the consensus reached by the US and Chinese leaders during a phone call, the ministry added further.

Market reaction

The remarks did little to influence the broader market sentiment as investors remain worried about the fast-spreading Delta variant and a global economic slowdown.
