How to enable and disable push notifications

Browser push notifications are used to proactively send messages to users who have previously subscribed. By default, browsers will prompt users to subscribe to notifications for various websites. Users can change these settings either globally or on a per-website basis. This page will explain how to enable or disable browser notifications in browsers we support.

Chrome
1. Open Chrome and navigate to: chrome://settings/content
2. Scroll down and click on the Notifications bar
3. Find the URL of the site you would like to allow or block and select the desired option. You can also change your global notification settings here by clicking on the toggle at the top of the page (default is “Ask before sending”)

Chrome for Android
1. Open the Chrome app and select the vertical elipses icon in the top-right corner of the screen
2. Select the “Settings” option from the dropdown menu
3. Select the “Site settings” option
4. Select the “Notifications” option
5. Here you can select a domain and either enable or disable notifications from that domain

Firefox
1. Open Firefox and navigate to: about:preferences
Depending on your version of Firefox, you may need to select the “Content” tab choice. In the latest Firefox, click on the “Privacy and Security” tab instead
2. Scroll to where it says “Notifications” and click the “Settings” button
3. A menu will pop up where you can change the settings for various domains

Microsoft Edge
1. Open Edge and select the “...” button in the top-right corner of the browser window
2. Scroll down and select the “Settings” option from the dropdown menu
3. Scroll down and select the “Advanced Settings” option from the dropdown menu
4. Scroll down and select the “Manage” button under the “Website Permissions” heading
5. Here you can select a domain and either enable or disable notifications from that domain

Internet Explorer 11
Internet explorer does not support browser notifications. Please use a different a browser.

Safari
1. Select “Safari” in the action bar at the top of the screen and select “Preferences”
2. Click on the “Websites” tab and then select “Notifications” in the menu on the left-side of the preferences window
3. Here you can select a domain and either enable or disable notifications from that domain

Safari on iOS
Safari on iOS does not support browser notifications. Please use a different a browser.
