Ioannis was born in Ottawa, Canada and grew up in Thessaloniki, Greece. In 1994, he graduated in Economics from the University of Macedonia, Greece. He holds a Master's degree in Money, Banking and Finance from the University of Birmingham, UK, and a Diploma in Economics from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain. He also took several courses to specialize in derivatives, market making and wealth management.
He has more than 23 years of experience in the equity markets as an executive for several securities firms and banks in Greece and the UK, focusing on financial options and OTC products and online trading, covering a wide range of market issues worldwide (CFDs, FX, options, APIs, stocks, swaps, NDFs, etc.).
He is a member of various professional bodies such as the CISI (Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments, UK), speaks five languages and is fond of jazz music (he plays the piano), art, sports, literature. He is passionate about travel.
