Senior sources confirmed Mr Davis has resigned as Brexit secretary

Amid mounting anger among Leave-backing MPs that the new No10 blueprint betrays the referendum result, but where the Prime Minister said the Chequers summit would "agree the shape of our future relationship with the European Union", it is being reported that David Davis has actually resigned from Government - (Two senior sources confirmed to PA that Mr Davis had quit).

"The cabinet signed up to the proposals, which were hammered out at Chequers this week, and they will be set out in full in parliament this coming week.

However, some pro-Brexit Tories are angry about the plan, with speculation that it could end up in a leadership challenge."
