Japan PM Abe calls for all parties to work on diplomatic efforts to ease tensions instead

While speaking to Reuters on Monday, the Japanese PM Abe urged all parties to avoid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Abe called on to work on diplomatic efforts to ease tensions instead.

Japan will ensure safety of Japanese ships in Middle East through self-defense force deployment, he added.

Earlier today, the 'E3' group of countries comprised of France, Britain and Germany called on Iran to refrain from any violent action and urged Iran to go back to respecting arrangements laid out in the JCPOA 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, as noted by FXStreet’s Analyst Ross J. Burland, citing Reuters.

Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron said that he spoke to President Donald Trump on Sunday afternoon and said Iran must avoid "destabilizing" actions.

The Yen markets ignore PM Abe’s comments, as it keeps its recovery attempt intact above the 108 handle.
