Opera announced in an official blog post on July 10 that Bitcoin (BTC) and Tron (TRX) have been added to the cryptocurrency wallet for Android (version 53 beta). The blog post says that users of the Opera browser for Android have the ability to send and receive Bitcoin, Tron and other TRC-10 standard tokens. In addition to that, webpages have the ability to request as well as receive addresses to ensure that users complete the transactions using BTC.

According to Cointelegraph:
“Opera characterizes this second functionality as “an experimental integration of Web 3” — a term that was initially coined to refer to the ambition to develop a semantic internet, and is increasingly used to refer to the evolution of a more intelligent, open and distributed web, involving the use of blockchain, decentralized computing and cryptocurrencies.”
The support for Bitcoin comes as an addition to already existing support for Ethereum (ETH) and the ERC standard tokens as detailed in the blog post. The inclusion of Bitcoin to Web 3.0 is meant to encourage users to use the platform for payments and not just for speculation. The blog post also said that TRX and TRX-20 standard token support was added this year in May.
